Western Asset is a proud signatory of the UK Stewardship Code, which outlines high standards for responsible investment on behalf of UK savers and pensioners.
I worked on the design of their annual UK Stewardship Report, a nearly 70-page publication centered on the theme of sustainability. Given the dense nature of the content, we focused on creating eye-catching covers and vibrant section dividers to bring clarity and energy to the reading experience.
For my second year designing the report, I developed a visual concept that became a favorite and was reused for several years. The approach involved abstracting patterns found in nature—zooming in, cropping, and reframing them to reveal both their complexity and simplicity. This shift in perspective was meant to echo the stewardship mindset itself: attentive, reflective, and deeply engaged with the systems that shape our world.
The result was a design that brought beauty and resonance to an important, data-rich piece of communication.
